A process of applying shellac (the polish) by hand to obtain a high quality full shine, satin or matt finish. Only used on antique or precious furniture.
Our service covers a wide range of finishes. If for instance the furniture is to be used in a high traffic area or where there is a risk of rough handling or pets we would suggest a modern wear resistant lacquer of which there are many different types available.
A finish that has been used over the centuries and now only used on period furniture. The process involves the application of applying a thin protective layer of wax which over time produces a deep clear patina. A superior finish to any other polishing process that only requires re-waxing once a year or in many cases once every few years.
